Mt. Healthy Haunted Hall-“Classic Scares for The Whole Family”
It was the first weekend for this year’s Mt. Healthy Haunted Hall. It was reasonably warm for this time of the year and we were ready for some good scares at this classic haunt.

Length-7: Your journey through Mt. Healthy Haunted Hall will take anywhere from 10-20 minutes depending on how well you are at dark mazes. Mt. Healthy Haunted Hall has one of the toughest around.

Design-7: The majority of this classic haunt takes place in tents, but you wouldn’t know by some of the detailed scenes inside. Scene favorites include a bloody cafeteria, haunted school room, Bug Boy infestation, Satan’s Lair and much more awaits you at Mt. Healthy Haunted Hall. A personal favorite for many is their incredible dark maze. Every week it is redesigned to make it different and more frightening for each visitor. It took me nearly 25 minutes to find the exit in this tough and confining maze.

Props/Animatronics-7: All the props you’ll find at Mt. Healthy are original and homemade. They include a moving hangman, moving floor, shaking Helevator, a well made vortex tunnel and the usual you’ve come to expect from the people at Mt. Healthy Haunted Hall. While this haunt could use some more high tech props, it’s more than likely not a possibility due to their small budget.

Acting-7: Some classic rooms and characters find their home at Mt.Healthy Haunted Hall. Bug boy returns to greet you in his bug infested lair while the demented bell hop takes you to the 13th floor in the Hellevator. While the characters you’ll come across are more intense this year, there needs to be more actors that are intimidating and use better dialog to entertain and frighten customers.

Scare Effect-7: This year Mt. Healthy has used less child actors and incorporated more adult actors into the scenes. It’s a more intense and believable haunt overall. The actors are very enthusiast and the dark maze you’ll come to love is harder to escape then ever. Without flashing lights or actors inside the maze, it’s much more scary.

Fright Value: $10 is a bit high for a charity haunt of this quality. It’s a great haunt to bring the family to, but it’s unlikely that an average size family will be able to afford it. Make sure to bring a canned good to get a $2 discount of the regular admission.

Final Stab-7.0: One of Cincinnati’s classic family friendly haunt returns with a few changes that you’ll for sure notice. Bring your family, friends, next door neighbor and whoever else you like to the Mt. Healthy Haunted Hall.
