Malice Manor (Clarksville, IN)
“Attack of Killer Sushi”
By Noah Wullkotte: jollypumpkin@aol.com
A thunder storm is brewing outside a house that no one dares to enter. This is the house that stories were told about when you were a kid. But those stories that you heard were true and you’re about to enter that haunted house where no one escapes. A girl named Alice is trapped in its walls and you’ll meet her very soon. A door mysteriously opens and beckons you to enter. This is City Blood’s 2024 review of Malice Manor in Clarksville, IN. The madness of Lord Rancor will consume you.
Malice Manor mixes humor with horror. There’s scenes that will make you laugh out loud. A wall is decorated with naked butts that blow air as you pass by. A mechanic is trapped underneath a Volkswagen Beetle as he screams for his life. The bar features a skull that sprays water and the laundry room is full of bubbles. You can bypass the laundry room if you don’t want to get wet. Enter the Wet Wash or Dry Cycle. This is just a small taste of what Malice Manor has to offer when it comes to laugh out loud moments.
Malice Manor resembles you guessed it, a haunted manor. Enter a kitchen where a frantic woman wants to know if she’s a good cook. Sit down on a couch as you hear the backstory of the haunt before crawling through a fireplace. Malice Manor does a great job with its hidden passage ways.
There’s plenty of delicious eye candy along the way. My favorite is the giant killer shark they call Sushi. The fog filled skull fountain inside the garden was very mysterious and the vibrating bridge will have you shaking. The kitchen features fog that simulates a smoking stove. There are some gory moments at Malice Manor. My favorite is the wall that’s covered with body parts and severed bits. If you have a fear of spiders (aka Arachnophobia) then you’re going to just love Malice Manor.
The actors do an excellent job and they’re very convincing. I loved the seamstress who measured us and wanted to rip out my spine. The actors may touch you, but they aren’t too physical. So, if you’re worried that you might be ruffed up a little then think again. This isn’t that type of haunt. You might get lightly touched. An example of this is the gypsy who places a curse on you. She draws a cross on your forehead as you exit the scene. There are some areas that are quite dark. Adding shock strips to walls would definitely catch people off guard and make them scream out loud.
Total tour time was 16 minutes and there was always something entertaining whether it be an animated prop or creature of the night. Malice Manor has its scary moments and the scenes make sense if you read its story line. Visit www.malicemanor.com to learn about Lord Rancor.
