Malice Manor (Clarksville, IN)
“Lord Rancor Lives and Breathes”
By Noah Wullkotte: jollypumpkin@aol.com
Gargoyles are perched at the entrance of a haunted manor. Do you dare to enter? The stories of Lord Rancor are true and you’ll soon find out yourself. Don’t let the curse consume you. Evil hides in the darkest corners of your psyche and you’ll soon find out why the locals fear this place of fear.
Malice Manor is full of high tech props and detailed scenes. The killer shark is a sight to behold. His name is Sushi. The 3 skull fountain with lights and mist is beautiful. One of my personal favorites is the mechanic being crushed by a Volkswagen Beetle. He yells out in pain as you walk past him. Malice Manor mixes humor with horror. What other haunt has its own hallway of naked butts that break wind? Yes, you read that correctly.
This haunt has a plethora of scary scenes from a freak playing the piano to a twisted doll room. A little girl asked us where mommy was and we unfortunately didn’t know. Your fears will be exploited. If you have fear of spiders (aka Arachnophobia) then you’re in for a real treat.
Malice Manor features light touching and they don’t over do it. The seamstress measures your body that would be the perfect size for a coffin. I was touched multiple times and even had a cross drawn on my head. I was blessed and it looked like I just got done with an Ash Wednesday service. This is a pretty creative haunt. The laundry room gives you the choice of entering the Wet Wash or Dry Cycle. You’ll walk through a pathway of bubbles if you choose the Wet Wash. I was a wimp and chose the Dry Cycle.
Malice Manor has it’s own secret passageways. This includes an entrance through a fireplace towards the start and eventually a bookcase. It’s very cool and mysterious. The kitchen features fog that simulates a smoking stove. You might see a thing or two that you haven’t experienced at other haunts. Hands look like they’re coming out of the wall. They’re trying to claw their way out. I ordered up a Bloody Mary in the haunted bar. Other scenes include a cave, cadaver tavern and more. This is a well rounded haunt where you’ll enter rooms that make sense with the story line. Click here to read it.
Tickets are $25 for General Admission, $40 for Fast Pass and $60 for Front of the Line. Parking is free. You’ll have your picture taken before entering. Grab a prop and be on your way. After you exit you’ll enter the Malice Manor Merchandise area where you can purchase a T-Shirt, hat and more. There was jewelry, a Dozer’s Dog Hot Dog Cart and more as we walked outside. Christmas Chaos takes place on December 12th and 13th from 7pm-11pm. Malice Manor is a very fun experience. It’s not too gory, has just the right amount of humor and the actors are great. We definitely recommend that you pay this Clarksville, Indiana haunt a visit.
