“Fear in the Field”
By Noah Wullkotte: jollypumpkin@aol.com
Hanna Haunted Acres consists of Acres Manor, Cannibal Chaos, Freakshow, The Horror Fields, Descension and Hanna Haunted Hayride. Hanna Haunted Hayride is the star of Hanna Haunted Acres. This 18 minute trek through the deep dark woods is entertaining from beginning to the end.
The majority of actors at Hanna Haunted Acres resort to using lines such as where are you going, get out, screaming or grunting. Each attraction lasts around 4 minutes with the exception of Hanna Haunted Hayride and Horror Fields. We were out Horror Fields in 10 minutes. Hanna Haunted Acres is full of impressive eye candy. Acres Manor has the most CGI animation that I’ve seen used in one haunt. Hanna Haunted Acres is full of animatronics that are sure to get your heart racing. My personal favorite was the Headless Horseman. You’ll also experience a train crash, signs that fall, an animated spider, a scary demon and much more.
Horror Fields is a traditional corn maze where anything might be lurking in the corn. It can be pretty difficult at times trying to find your way out. We encountered one actor in the cornfield. Descension features underground caves that resemble the pits of hell. You’ll explore crypts, a foggy swamp and more. This is a very detailed attraction and realistic to say the least. You’ll definitely have a haunting good time in Descension.
The other attractions include Cannibal Chaos and Freakshow. I don’t want to give away everything you’ll experience at Hanna Haunted Acres. So, this review is going to be short. Hanna Haunted Acres has made some big improvements in the way of set design and props. Some of the sets are beautiful to say the least. The attractions are very easy to find because they all feature facades or banners that are illuminated. There are plenty of concessions available such as hot dogs, corn dogs, candy, Carmel Apples, hot chocolate and much more. There are also glow toys. Don’t forget to check out the palm reader to get your fortune told. Tickets start at 1$17.95 for the hayride only and $26.95 for a combo ticket.
