Fright Manor (Indianapolis, IN)
“A Dark and Scary Classic”
By Noah Wullkotte: Visited on 10/17/26
Fright Manor has been scaring Indiana since 1982. That’s 44 years of fears. The number one song that year was Physical by Olivia Newton-John. Michael Jackson’s Thriller was released and E.T. Was the highest grossing film at that time. It even grossed more than the 1977 science fiction classic Star Wars. Thriller would go on to sell nearly 70 million copies. Things have changed in over 4 decades, but Fright Manor has remained a classic haunt that will scare most people. Fright Manor has been scary since day one and has brought the fright for 2026.
Fright Manor consists of two attractions. These are Legends of the Manor and Slashers. We consider them two sections that form one large haunted attraction. Fright Manor has a lot of eye catching props. You’ll encounter a junk yard jog, vicious werewolves, a ghoul peeing in a toilet, falling barrels, and much more. My favorite prop at Fright Manor has always been the skeleton that’s shaking metal bars in front of him. One scene features an electric chair, another poor soul being electrocuted and more. There were a few scenes here and there where we were unsure what it was supposed to be. It just seemed like random decor, but this wasn’t the case for most of the haunt.
There are plenty of crazy characters that will try to scare and startle you. An actress warned us about Annabelle the Doll. She’s the most haunted and demonically possessed doll in the world. A cabin with a killer is waiting for you. Do you have the courage to enter? Fright Manor has one of the best Michael Myers around. He stays completely in character and is quite unnerving. He doesn’t say a thing as he stares you down and blocks your path. Sparks will fly at Fright Manor. A psychotic welder will tear you to shreds. My personal favorite is the chained up man who lunged at us. Other characters include a witch, Twisted the Clown and so much more. Twisted handed me a purple plastic ball from his ball pit. The actors seemed more intense this season especially those who held weapons.
You will need to duck and find your way out of the darkness at Fright Manor. This is a haunt that has a lot of variety in terms of scenes. One classic scene you don’t see very often is the Jason mask room. Walk through a dark room full of glowing Jason masks. One is an actor waiting to pounce. It’s quite effective and creepy. A church will have you exercising your demons. The actor was pretty phenomenal. The small movie theater was realistic and spooky as well. Fright Manor doesn’t overdo it with chainsaws which makes it more effective. They don’t run it into the ground.
Fright Manor could improve the lighting here and there. There were a few scenes where it was hard to see the various props which was unfortunate. Adding some simple LED spotlights would go a long way. Some scenes would also be more realistic if they had a spooky soundtrack or scary sound effects. But Fright Manor does an excellent job incorporating darkness. It’s very nerve wracking. The group of girls in front of us were screaming like banshees as they ran from a chainsaw maniac.

Total tour time was 18 minutes, but could be longer depending on your interaction with the creepy characters. Tickets are $25 per victim. You might want to purchase a Speed Pass for $35 to skip the regular line. The closer it gets to Halloween, the larger the crowd. So, show up early or get a Speed Pass. A Season Pass is $65 for those who want to enjoy Fright Manor all season long. FFA (Future Farmers of America) get in for $15 with Photo ID. Go through twice for $35 on Friday night. It’s $20 admission for military, police and firefighters with ID. It’s $20 admission for senior citizens with ID. Bring your Friday Night Football ticket stub for $5 off admission on Fridays. A portion of proceeds support the Southport Little League and parking is free.
On November 6th Fright Manor has a special event called Hunted where you’ll be hunted by characters like Michael Myers and Freddy Krueger. There are various concessions available at Fright Manor like cheeseburgers, candy and more. There was a table setup with Energy Drinks that were themed after characters found in Fright Manor. How cool is that.
We’ve been touring Fright Manor since the early 2000s. It’s one of our favorite haunts in Indiana. Their prime objective is to scare the pants off of customers and it’s an old school style haunt that strikes at your deepest darkest fears.
