The Haunted Hotel (Louisville, KY)
“Guests Are Dying To Stay Here”

For 25 years Louisville has been home to one of the most intense haunts in the country. It’s earned legendary status over the years and has gained a cult following. I’m of course speaking of The Haunted Hotel. You’ll check in, but you won’t check out.
A red neon sign flashes as people line up to experience the madness within the rooms of this unique attraction. This isn’t your run of the mill haunt. You’re going to be poked, pulled, cussed at and visually assaulted. This is a nerve wrecking attraction and one of the most extreme around.
The Haunted Hotel has increased its level of intensity for its 25th anniversary. I was grabbed by the neck and I even had an actor try to shove my face into a man eating plant monster. All of your senses will be attacked and you’re going to walk away covered in fluids. The fluids are fake blood and water.
The Haunted Hotel has special effects that you’ll experience from every direction. Many haunts feature fog, but The Haunted Hotel utilizes co2 fog that rises from underneath the floor and falls on you from the ceiling. The Haunted Hotel has become infamous for its nerve wrecking Hellevator. You’ll meet a one of a kind freak that will attack you as the elevator malfunctions and comes crashing down to the 13th floor.
The Haunted Hotel utilizes many great props such as impressive CGI, a car that crashes through the wall, a loud gun that fires and so much more. My favorite new addition is the basement which has been flooded. You’ll then meet a poor soul who’s been involved in a water heater explosion. His faced has been singed and he’s dying for help.
The actors at The Haunted Hotel are relentless and don’t hold back with the insults. One actress said that she was going to cut my sausage off and put it on a muffin for breakfast, but it wouldn’t fill her up. Another said that she was going to cut my sack open and make a change purse out of it. I’m not sure why, but that kind of turned me on in a sick and twisted way. You’ll meet other characters such as the owner Thomas Gribbins, a killer butcher, a crazy wino, a friendly receptionist and of course the lunatics who chase you with their gas powered chainsaws.
You won’t experience a better chainsaw chase than you will at The Haunted Hotel. This isn’t a haunt that holds back and you’re definitely going to be scared out of your skin at certain points. We were inside of the haunt for nearly 20 minutes. It could be less depending on how long the actors terrorize you. General admission is $20 and a VIP Fast Pass is $29. T-shirts are $8 a piece which is a steal. Click here for a $2 off coupon.
The Haunted Hotel is a haunt we look forward to all year. There’s just something special about its actors, unique scares and intense rooms. You have to visit The Haunted Hotel if you’re a fan of haunts that will have you shaking in your boots. It’s an experience you won’t soon forget.
