Literally, a Haunted House at Culbertson Mansion (New Albany, IN)

“Where Night Terrors Are Born”
By Noah Wullkotte: Jollypumpkin@aol.com

Something dark and twisted lives inside an old carriage house. The locals have stories about a house of evil that will terrify the innocent and put a chill down your spine. A creepy clown holding a red balloon walks the grounds, but doesn’t say a word. Are you prepared for an experience that will haunt your dreams and leave long lasting memories?

Enter a graveyard that’s infested with the living dead. You pray for solitude from the flesh eaters. The carriage house is haunted and possibly cursed.  Your nightmares and phobias will be exploited. Get ready to meet monsters and creatures that born from fear. A poor girl’s teeth are falling out and a group of people have been turned into insects. Watch your eyes or they might pop out of your head in the eyeball room.

The monster hiding under your bed is real and you will meet him soon. Urban Legends live at the carriage house. Say Bloody Mary three times in the mirror and hope to god that she doesn’t kill you. This haunt is full of unique characters including a large baby who wants to share his dirty diaper. I had a diaper rubbed in my face as I tried to leave the room. Anything and everything could be alive at Literally, a Haunted House at Culbertson Mansion. The stuffed animals are ravenous and they’ll attack at any moment.

Experience life after death as you take a ride in a casket. You might even spin around and around in a box. The coroner isn’t too happy and her crazed assistant is very unpredictable. This is a haunt that is quite interactive and you will be touched. This is a theatrical style haunt with dedicated actors.

Literally, a Haunted House is one our favorite haunts. The actors are very good and stay in character no matter what. You can always expect a new experience every year since the entire haunt is remodeled and there’s a new theme. It took us roughly 12 minutes to explore the carriage house and we had a blast. Tickets are $14 and there are plenty of concessions available in the ticket tent. There are squishy brains, glow in the dark putty, T-Shirts for $15 and much more.

Literally, a Haunted House at Culbertson Mansion is one of those haunts that is creepy beyond belief with a cast of characters that want to scare the piss out of you. Hell, they even keep track of people who’ve blacked out, quit, puked, pissed, crapped their pants and cried. This is a great haunt with some unique scenes. It’s fun and frightening.
