Asylum Haunted Scream Park
 (Louisville, KY)
“Don’t Let Pandora Take Control!”

There’s a carnival taking place at Asylum Haunted Scream Park and you’re invited. There are games of chance, food and entertainment at the Carnivale of Lost Souls. The Blue Moon Circus takes stage and dazzles the crowd. Fire breathers, jugglers, a contortionist and a man who drives nails into his skull perform their hearts out.

Asylum Haunted Scream Park features 3 haunts. This includes Darkness Falls on Asylum, Zombie City and Xterminate Zalien Attack. The first haunt we toured for the night was Darkness Falls on Asylum. This is a professional quality haunted trail that lasts nearly half an hour. We didn’t know what to really expect. The last time we experienced this haunt was in 2012. In those 2 years, massive changes have been made.

There are very few times we’re caught off guard, but tonight was different. Darkness Falls on Asylum has scares coming at you from every direction. We jumped when we witnessed a witch flying over our heads and there were scenes that just creeped us out to no end. Darkness Falls on Asylum is interactive as well.

Darkness Falls on Asylum features it’s own slide that leads to a ball pit. Enter the boiler room and take a ride. This isn’t a scary scene, but it’s definitely memorable and it adds to the overall experience. This is a haunted trail that tries to be different. The actors are great and so are the rooms. You’ll walk through an ice house with a chained up victim, a maternity ward, a church of sin and more. The graveyard is pretty unique because it features statues that spring to life. The church of sin is chilling and unexpected.

Darkness Falls on Asylum has your traditional themed rooms such as a funhouse, the butcher shop, a shanty town and the usual. The funhouse was surprisingly different from what we’ve seen before. It starts off inside a building with colorful art and flashing lights. But it eventually leads to a flashing tunnel and an outdoor carnival. It’s pretty cool to say the least.

Like I said earlier, the haunt is close to 30 minutes which is pretty long for a haunted trail. You’re not going to experience many dead spots and there are plenty of surprises. We survived Asylum Haunted Scream Park and we were ready to get in line for Zombie City. Zombie City is an interactive horror experience that is unlike any haunted attraction you’re going experience in Louisville, KY.

The person who picks the shortest straw is considered the lamb who’s been brought to slaughter. This poor soul isn’t allowed to wear a face mask to prevent themselves from being infected by the Pandora Virus. This virus turns people into the living dead and there’s no cure. We were in a group of 6 people and the girl in our group chose the shortest straw. Right away, she started to freak out because she knew that she would have to participate in different tasks and would be part of the story.

I’ll do my best not give away too much of the storyline. You’ll meet a scientist who’s become part zombie. A doctor wants to inject you with some deadly serum. You’ll fight off zombies, a killer dog and you’ll meet some Germans who are involved in the New World Government. Zombie City is one of the best haunts in terms of acting that I’ve ever had the privilege of experiencing. There’s a reason why the wait in line is so long. This is because the actors spend so much time with each group. I can’t say enough about Zombie City. It’s like nothing else around. The total experience was over 20 minutes long.

The last attraction at Asylum Haunted Scream Park is Xterminate Zalien Attack. This interactive horror adventure is intense. Shoot as many zombie aliens as possible and pray for survival. Will you survive this deadly apocalypse? Xterminate Zalien Attack is quite fun and the wait in line wasn’t too bad compared to the other attractions.

We were pretty impressed with all that Asylum Haunted Scream Park had to offer. Their haunted trail is top notch, Zombie City has an incredible story and Xterminate Zalien Attack is a blast. An all access pass for all attractions is $28. The Slendarman Live Action Experience is $10 a ticket and is only open on certain dates. For an additional $20, you can purchase a VIP Ticket which includes skipping the lines, T-Shirt, coozie, lanyard and wrist band. Please visit www.asylumhaunts.com for information on dates, times, ticket prices, special events and discounts.
